Because first impressions count

Many couples choose Ringwood Hall Hotel as their wedding venue due to the attractive setting for their special day

We are immensely proud of our Grade II listed Georgian Mansion but the old dear needs looking after especially as it is now over 200 years old!

We have recently taken great care and effort in refurbishing the front entrance to ensure that the first impression for your guests is still WOW!
The improvements to the front entrance have been ongoing since early January and have involved repair to all of the structure, with a new base installed this week. The. job is not yet complete but when finished will significantly enhance the appearance of the front of the hotel, why not come to see for yourself?

Valentines at Ringwood Hall Hotel

Did you know there was a church of St Valentine built on the Flaminian Way at Rome in the 4th century.

This was said to acknowledge the original saint. The Christian bishop martyred by the Romans at Terni on February 14th is probably a doublet of the first St. Valentine, but they both have the same feast day. The latter`s (and presumably the former`s) outstanding virtue was chastity.

However, both St. Valentine legends have nothing to do with the beginnings of the traditional customs. Some of the origins of this day as a celebration go back to the eve of the ancient Roman festival of youth “Lupercalia”, when a lottery was held to choose sweethearts.

It used to be the fashion for young girls to place bay leaves under their pillows In the hope of dreaming of their future husbands. Just another of the many romantic customs that emanate from St Valentines Day.
Here at Ringwood Hall Hotel we like to think we are setting some traditions of our own. We don`t expect you to be a saint, but we do expect you to enjoy a Valentine`s event. We have very limited availability on Saturday 14th, but for the Murder Mystery Dinner on Friday 13th we have spaces, plus  space on Sunday lunch with a Valentines theme on the 15th.

Wherever you enjoy your Valentines event, we look forward to seeing you on Sunday 22nd February at our next Wedding Showcase, with free admission and parking between 2-5pm. Oh and bring your Valentine of course.
